Uzodimma Vows Swift Implementation of Minimum Wage for Imo Workers After Supreme Court Victory

Governor Hope Uzodimma has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the full implementation of the new minimum wage for Imo State civil servants. This assurance was given during a visit by the state’s civil servants, led by the Head of Service, Bar. Raymond Ucheoma, to the Government House on August 27, 2024. The visit was made in celebration of Governor Uzodimma’s Supreme Court victory, which affirmed his governorship.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Uzodimma expressed gratitude for the support from the civil servants and underscored that his victory is a collective win for all residents of Imo State. He emphasized his administration’s labor-friendly approach and promised that the minimum wage implementation would take effect within weeks, along with other measures aimed at improving workers’ welfare.

“We have always prioritized the welfare of our civil servants, and in the coming weeks, we will commence full implementation of the minimum wage to ensure improved living conditions for our workforce,” Governor Uzodimma stated.

In response, the civil servants pledged their unwavering support for the administration, reaffirming their confidence in the governor’s leadership and the positive changes he has implemented in the state.
